"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life." Psalm 138:7
Preserve. That is the word that I want to focus on today. It has a few definitions, but two of them that really stood out to me were where it said that this word means to protect and to maintain. When you are going through a time full of trouble and turmoil, God is going to protect you, Although you may be going through a rough time, He will never let anything hurt you, He will be holding you the whole time and He will not let you go. He also wants to maintain you, He is going to provide for you, uphold, you, and defend you.
This word also makes me think of a life preserver. If someone is out in the water and begins to sink, the life preserver is thrown out to them and keeps them afloat as they get pulled back to land. God is our life preserver. When the waters and the trouble begins to rise above our heads and we seem to be sinking, God comes out to us and keeps us afloat. He will not let us go under, and He keeps us in the preserver until we get back to the land where there is far less trouble than out in the waters. So just remember today, that a midst all of the troubles and turmoil you might be facing, God wants to protect you, He wants to maintain you, and He is going to keep you afloat.
