Robert Louis Stevenson
At the end of each day, when you look back on all that has happened in the past twenty-four hours, how do you feel? Maybe you find yourself feeling discouraged, thinking that out of all the good deeds, out of all of the blessings that you gave to others, that you still ended up with the same amount that you started with in the first place. Maybe you are going to bed with an empty feeling that you bless and bless others, but are not being blessed in return. Well let me tell you this, it is a blessing right there to be able to go about and bless other people. When you do this, even though the people that you are blessing may not acknowledge the fact at the time, just know that you did it through God, and even though you did not receive instant gratification, know that He sees what you do and He remembers it for another time when you need a blessing sent down. To address the point of feeling discouraged that you bless others and you still end up with the same amount that you started with, don't count what you have gotten, but rather, count what you have given. Don't say, I did this and this but I didn't get anything for it. No, say I gave someone a hand today, I gave someone a smile, I gave someone hope. When you count the seeds that you have planted, you will really begin to see how big your harvest actually is.
