"I loved you at your darkest." Romans 5:8
Maybe today you are feeling as though you are in a dark place right now. You are in a valley so deep that God can't even lift you out of it. Maybe you are even feeling as though you don't even know how God could love you at this time. If this is you today, I pray for you. I pray that you would keep reading and hopefully find encouragement in this post.
When we get into these dark situations, it is hard. The discouragement continues to grow the longer that we are in these places. You first start out by feeling as though you are in a dark place, but then it grows to feel as though you will never get out, and it gradually gets bigger and bigger and can even grow into the idea that you are too deep in the dark, deep valley for God to even love you. But I want you to know something, I want you to read this verse over and over today. Write it on a piece of paper and put it up somewhere where you will see it a lot. The verse is Romans 5:8, "I loved you at your darkest." Look there, God, God! The almighty, powerful and loving God is telling you that, even though you are in a dark place, even though you are going deeper into that valley, He still loves you, and He always will! Nothing that happens to you is going to separate you from God's love. And, when you come to see this love that God has for you, that dark valley you are in, it will be filled with light, and God will lead you out, all because He loves you at your darkest.
