"I loved you at your darkest." Romans 5:8
Maybe today you are feeling like God's love for you is dwindling. You have done so many things, and you think that those things have disqualified you from God's love. Maybe you feel as though you are in such a dark hole right now that no one, not even God, will be able to love you here.
But today, I want you to know something. This is something that I really want you to remember. Write it down, memorize the verse, tape it up on your mirror. I just want you to remember that "He loved you at your darkest."
Think about that for a minute. If God loved us at our darkest, He's not saying that He only loves us if we stay up in the light. He doesn't only love us if we do everything perfectly and don't make any mistakes. No. "He loves us at our darkest." No matter how dark of a hole you are in right now, no matter what you have done in the past, God, the God who created the Heavens and the Earth and the stars, "He loved you at your darkest." He loved you when you were deeper in that hole than you are now. He loved you during that last mistake, that really big one you made last month. So, if He loved you through all of that, if "He loved you at your darkest," What makes you think that He is going to stop now?
For God is love.
