What Are We Doing With God's Promises

"Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." Luke 11:28

I love how this verse really opens up our minds as to how we are hearing and responding to God's word. To the promises that He gives us, the strength, the love, the protection. Yes, we hear these promises, we read them, we listen to them, and we try to tell them to others when we can. But what are we doing once we hear these things? What are we doing when we read them? Like Luke 11:28 says, we need to keep them.
Now, what does this mean exactly? Well, what it is saying is that we have to go father than just listening to these words. We need to go farther than just reading them. We need to take hold of them, hold on to them tight, and keep them. Keep them for when you feel discouraged. Keep them for when you are feeling low and down. So that when we need encouragement, you don't have search, but you have God's word right there with you. It is like we have certain weapons against our situations that we face. Against an obstacle, we pull out our bravery. When faced with a trial, we pull out our strength. Do you see what I am saying? We have so many promises that God gives to us that we can use for any situation that may come our way! So, with that, what I want you to do today, is find those promises and take hold of them.
