"God, I'm going to believe what you have promised me." 2 Corinthians 5:7
Today my assignment for you is simple, I want you to believe what God has promised you. Now, I know what you might be thinking; you already do believe in His promises. You live by them and listen to them. But do you really? Do you really listen to what God's promises are saying to you? Let's look at a few and see...
See, one of the many promises that God has given us is that He will work everything out for us. (Romans 8:28) He knows the answers to all of the unknowns ahead of us and He does not see the realistic limits that we put on things. So why do we worry? Why do we get stressed out when we don't think or see how something is going to work? Instead, we need to proclaim that we believe in the promise that God is working it our for us.
God also promised that He is going to finish what He started in us. (Philippians 1:6) When we look at ourselves, sometimes we feel discouraged. We feel like we don't add up to what God has us to be. We feel like, in life, we are behind in our purpose, behind in finding the type of life that God has for us, or maybe behind in fulfilling his promises. But you see, you are not behind, and we have to know that there is no need to be discouraged, why? Because God isn't done with you yet. He is constantly shaping and molding you into the person that He has you to be, and you need to know that, wherever it is that you are right now, that is exactly where God wants you.
Last, but certainly not least, God promised us that we do not need to worry. He told us to hand all of our worries and concerns up to Him. (Philippians 4:6-7) We get so stressed out in our lives because we don't understand something. We fill our minds and hearts with worry and anxiety over things that we have no control over. But what we need to do is rid ourselves of that anxiety. Rid ourselves of that worry and that stress, and just pray and be thankful. Because God says that when we pray, when we take all of these things to Him, He will take them from us, and we will not have to think about them any longer.
So, even though these are just a few of the promises that God has given us, rejoice in these today. Remind yourself of them, and start living a better life, the type that God has you to live.
