"There is always something to be thankful for." Unknown
Maybe today, you have a lot going on in your life. You are stressed out and seem to be up to your ears in stuff that needs to be done. You feel like things, situations, and problems, are being thrown at you from all directions. Is this you today? Are you one of these people? If so, there are two words that I want you keep in mind. Those words are be thankful.
Now I know that with Thanksgiving coming up for many, there is a thankfulness to the air, if you will. But so many times, we are caught up in the stress and all the craziness of it, that we don't get a chance to realize what it is that we are thankful for. Sometimes, while in these situations, we aren't even able to find anything that we are thankful for because it all seems to be going wrong. But let me tell you something today, if you are caught up in stress or if you are finding a hard time finding something to be thankful for, close your eyes. Yes, I said close your eyes. Why? Well because when you do, you don't see everything going on around you. It is a small escape from all of the stress, and when you are in that escape, God is going to reveal the things to you that He has blessed you with, and without all of the distraction, you will not only realize that whatever it is that was causing you to be so stressed doesn't deserve to have more space in your mind and soul than the things that you are thankful for, but you will notice all that you do have. You will realize what you are, in fact, blessed with.
We all have a reason to be thankful, no matter how hectic your life might be. Whether it is something like waking up in the morning and taking a deep breath, taking a sip of hot coffee, a hug you get from your child, your spouse, the sunshine, and so many more things that are all around us. So just take some time today, just close your eyes for a minute, and really begin to think about every single thing, all the way from something as small as your favorite sweater up to your home, your family, and the life that God has chosen to give you; count your blessings, realize what you have to be thankful for, not only that, but once you begin to look for these things, you are going to find more than you ever thought you would.
