"No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again." Buddha
I love these two words, "begin again." It really gives us an image of a blank slate, something that is fresh, new, and untouched, and maybe that is what you are needing today. Maybe you have been hurt, maybe you have had to go through incredibly tough times, I don't know, but what I do know is this; is that you, my friend, can begin again.
Now, maybe you have heard this before, and maybe you have been offered the idea of "beginning again," but you don't know where to start. You don't know how exactly, you are going to forget all that has happened to you, all the pain, all of the sadness, and all of the trouble, but let me tell you that you don't have to forget, those scars are a part of you, but you can't let them control you. You can not let who you were or what happened to you in your past determine who it is that you are going to be in your future.
So do you know what it is that you need to do today? You need to clear the slate. Now, if you don't know what a a slate is, it is a small chalkboard that children used to carry to school with them to take their notes and do their schoolwork on, but imagine how messy that got after a while. All of the chalk from all of the notes and work they had done from the day before piled onto that little chalkboard. That is how we are in our lives today with our past hurts and pains. We let them pile up on our lives, but today, we need to wipe the slate clean, and start anew. We need to walk into the fresh, new life that God has for us. So go out, and enjoy your new beginning.
