"Stop Doubting And Believe"

"Stop doubting and believe." John 20:29

I love the simplicity that this verse offers. I mean, it is just four words that Jesus has spoken to one of His disciples, yet, it can apply to our daily lives. You see, we live in a society today that is full of doubt. If something doesn't seem possible in reality, right in front of us, we are going to be told that it is not possible at all. People doubt that things will get better, they doubt that they can accomplish this or that, and doubting takes a toll on our faith as well, so that is why, today, I want to tell the same thing that Jesus had said to Thomas, "stop doubting and believe."
You see, in our faith, we begin to doubt when we don't see answers in the time period in which we think that they should come. We doubt that God is even hearing this prayer, let alone answering it. We also doubt that these ideas that we have, these big dreams and thoughts that we get, are even possible; we don't see a way that they could happen, so we just doubt that they ever would. But what it is that we are forgetting is that our God can do the impossible! "We can do all things through Him!" So, if we have these promises, why do we keep doubting? And you know what else it is that we are forgetting? We are forgetting that those dreams and those thoughts that we deem impossible, they didn't just get into our minds and hearts by chance, but God put them there! So again, if we have these promises, why are we so full of doubt? Well, one reason that I think we are, is the same reason that I personally believe Thomas was doubtful. It is because we are scared. Yes, the things we may be doubting might be good things, but we are scared of the change that they will bring. We are scared of what it is that we will have to do to get to that point, and that is when our doubts creep in, saying, "what if I can't do it?" "What if it doesn't work out?" "What if it is just too impossible?" But listen, let me tell you today, if you would do as Jesus said and "stop doubting and believe," and rejoice in the fact that if God brings you to something, He is going to give you whatever it is you need to get through it, your fear is going to diminish, and you are going to start walking by a new light, a light full of possibility, full of miracles, and full of promise. And that light, and that belief, are going to lead you places that you could have never even dreamed of.
