"They saw that the stone, which was very large, has been rolled away." Mark 16:4
With tomorrow being the celebration of Easter, the day when Jesus defeated the grave and rose from the dead, the visual of that stone is on my heart. Think about it in this light; if Jesus was able to roll this immovable stone away so that He could accomplish what it is that He needed to, what is stopping Him from doing that in our lives?
You see, we are the ones stopping it. We doubt and we question whether what it is that we are working towards or praying for, for it looks impossible. There is no realistic way that we are going to accomplish this; but let me ask you this; do you think that Jesus' followers and disciples thought that this enormous, heavy, immovable stone could be rolled out of the way so that Jesus would be able to rise? I am pretty sure that most of them had their doubts. They saw how impossible it was and how heavy it was, they figured that it wasn't realistic that He would be able to move this stone; and they were very sure of the fact that they couldn't do it themselves.
But what did happen on that Sunday so long ago? Did Jesus agree with the people, and, realizing how impossible and unrealistic it was to move this large stone out of the way, gave up? No! But instead, He rolled the stone out of the way, and rose, just as He said that He was going to!
So today in your lives, no matter how impossible your situation may look or no matter how realistic it may be, know this; we serve a God that rolled the immovable stone away. The limits that we use to deem something impossible or unrealistic mean nothing to our Lord, the one who has done the impossible! Jesus rose from the grave so that He could get to where it is that He needed to be, and He is going to do the same for you. He is going to do the impossible to get you where it is that He has you to be in your life. So take faith, and this Easter, rejoice in our Risen Savior, and all of the promises that He offers us.
