Stop Searching For Happiness In Outside Sources; For That Is Not Where True Happiness Lies

"Happiness cannot come from without. It must come from within." Helen Keller

I want to start off by asking you a question today. It is a question that I think many of us struggle with, myself included. The question that I want to ask you is this; are you allowing outside sources determine your happiness?
Now, what exactly do I mean by an outside source? Well by that, I mean your job, I mean the weather, your health, other people around you, these are all outside sources that, if we let them, will steal our happiness. See, we get so caught up in these things, so caught up in all of the many outside sources that we have around us, that when one starts to fail and starts going downhill, it brings us down with it. The stress and disappointment that this brings can steal our happiness in an instant, and that is what I think happens to so many of us! And only because we don't know that there is another option; another place that happiness, true happiness, comes from. A happiness that does not fall away, but is everlasting. See, this happiness, it isn't anywhere in these outside sources, and it isn't even somewhere that you need to search for, but rather, it is inside of you.
See, we have the Spirit of the Lord within us! And that, my friend, is where true happiness comes from. We know through this Spirit that God is never going to let us fail; that even though things may be going wrong around us, that God is keeping us upright and moving down the path that He has us to go down. We have happiness in this because of the love of Christ. The love that is so unconditionally given, and that, my friend, should make you ecstatic. See, rather than depending on someone or something of an outside source to make you happy, look within, and you will find the greatest joy, the greatest gift, and the greatest blessing that has even been given. It is the true source of happiness that will never, ever fail, and it, my friend, is God's love for us.
