"What Would Jesus Do?" A Question That Means More Than We Give It Credit For.

"What would Jesus do?" Unknown

"What would Jesus do?" You might think of this saying as that of one a child may learn in Sunday school at a very young age or a rubber bracelet bearing the letters "WWJD." Wherever it is that you have seen it, I think it is safe to say that many people don't take these words seriously. They don't see how this cheesy little saying could shape and change our lives and the world around us.
Now, in our daily lives, we all face situations that are far from comfortable; whether that may be a disagreement with a coworker, an argument with a family member, a situation that you are forced to face, or anything else that may come up; we have these obstacles and we have these trials, but so many times we respond to them in a way that, later, we wish we hadn't. We say harsh and hurtful words to that coworker or family member that we were disagreeing with and we give up on this situation in front of us, as it was too difficult, you see, doing these things and making these choices is not what Jesus would do if He were here on earth now, is it? We need to think before we act. Think of how Jesus did so! Even if He was angry, even if He was frustrated, He came up with a peaceful way to address it. He didn't end up hurting His disciples feelings by calling them a mean name, He didn't join in an argument just to prove His point, but rather, He was peaceful. He stayed calm, and He addressed the situation with a kind heart, and that is what it is that we need to start doing! We need to start thinking like Jesus, and putting those thoughts into action! Not only will doing this change you and your heart, but keep in mind of how it could positively affect the world around you!
Think about this aspect as well; when Jesus faced a difficult situations, of which He had many, did He give up? Did He decide that it was too hard, turn around, and go back? No! He faced it with courage, the courage that He received from His father. Not only that, but He asked that His father's will be done in His life, and He put full trust in the fact that it would be.
So today, I want you to go out in the world, wherever it is that you may be, and in whatever situations that may come across your path, remind yourself of the words, and the meaning behind them, "what would Jesus do?" and do it.
