Patience Is More Than Just Waiting

"Patience is not the ability to wait, but how you act when you are waiting." Unknown

We have been told many times in our lives to wait for something, whether it was from our parents when we were young, our teacher as we went to school, and God, who says it as a reply to some of our prayers. And see, when we are told to wait, especially by God, we do, but what you do while waiting and the attitude that you keep; that, my friend is what matters.
Now what is it that I mean by this? Why does it matter what we do and what attitude we have in the process of waiting for God to give us an answer? Well you see, as the quote says above, patience is just not waiting, of which many people think it to be, but patience is waiting along with how we act while we are doing so; and this matters because while God is working in His timing, while He is waiting to send down the answered prayer that we are asking Him for, He watches to see how we act in the process. Is He seeing us as frustrated and annoyed, cranky and stressed out, or is He seeing us as peaceful and calm, trusting and believing in Him and His timing? See, if today you are the first option of the two, stressed out over when this is going to come to pass, annoyed and irritable, if this is you, let me tell you that God is waiting for us to have patience, and that is waiting, along with a trusting and peaceful attitude. He wants to see this in us before He graces us with what it is that we are asking for. We need to change our mindset, and know that patience is so much more than just waiting, but it is showing God that you trust Him, it is showing God that you believe in Him and that, whenever He is ready, you are ready for whatever it is that He has in store for you. That is patience, and that is what God wants to see us like before He blesses us with an answered prayer.
So today, ask yourself if you are truly being patient with God, and if you are being the type of person that He would want to see you as in the waiting process. For when you change your attitude and start believing and trusting in Him, when you start having peace in His perfect timing, you are going to be amazed at the answers you will see come to pass.
