"God may not always answer the prayers we want, but He always answers the prayers we need." Unknown
God does answer prayers. Those are four powerful words that I hope strike your heart as your read them. There is so much truth in the statement of God does answer our prayers, but so many people are not able to see that because they are blinded by a prayer that they sent up to God but did not get answered. Is this you today? If so, I want to encourage you with the fact that God may not answer all prayers, but He does answer the ones that He knows we need.
Now, I know that it can be frustrating when we have an unanswered prayer, but something that you have to know is that God never actually says "no" to His children's prayers. But instead, He answers with "not right now," or "I have something better."And see, these prayers, these are usually for our wants. Things that we are wanting to happen, and things that we are wanting to happen in our timing, but God doesn't work that way. Yes, He may know that we want it, but He knows far more than we do. He knows what this will bring along with it, He knows how it will affect your future, He knows so much more that, if you knew what He did, you probably would change your mind about wanting that thing that you aren't getting.
Now, when God sees that we are praying for something that we need, when He checks the depths of our hearts and sees that this is something that we are genuinely and wholeheartedly praying for, He is going to work in His timing to get it to us. He knows that this thing will benefit us, He knows that it will lead us to where He has us to be, for rather than coming from our earthly wants, it is coming from the depths of our hearts, the ones that are so deep, that God is the only one with access.
So today, if you aren't hearing a yes, and if you are hearing a "not right now," or a "I have something better in store," don't get discouraged, for God knows that if you got this prayer answered right now, that it would steer you away from the path that He has you to be on. But rest in the hope that God does answer prayers. He searches the deepest depths of our hearts to see what it is that we are needing in our lives to get to where He has us to be, and when we pray for those things, my friend, God is going to make sure that you get there, and He is going to do it spectacularly.
