We Must Pray To God, But We Also Must Do The Work Here On Earth

"Pray as if it's up to God, work as if it's up to you." Oprah Winfrey

I think that sometimes, we get the wrong idea when it comes to giving our prayers to God. We think that after we give it all to Him, that He is going to do all the work and we just need to sit back, and follow where He tells us to go. But see, my friend, when we give it to God, that doesn't mean our work is over, but it means that it has just started.
Now, you see, when we pray to God for something, we are handing it all over to Him, letting Him take control of the situation; but what we sometimes forget is that when we do give it to Him, in turn He is going to count on us to get ready to accept it. He is going to be waiting to make sure that we are ready for whatever it is that He is preparing for us, and we can't do these things sitting back, thinking that God takes care of all of the work for us.
So what is the work that we need to do? You see, we need to get ready for whatever it is that we are praying to God for. We have to show Him that, not only do we really and truly want this, but that we are trusting and confident that He is going to bring it to pass. We are showing Him that we believe that He is capable of bringing our biggest dreams, prayers, needs, and wants to pass.
So as the quote above says, we need to pray, giving that part to God. For it is up to Him to take the prayer into His hands and bring it to pass, but we also need to work, for it is up to us to prepare and show God that we are ready to accept this answered prayer that we sent up to Him.
So after we send up our prayer and give it all to God, then we have to do what we are able to here on earth to get ready for it. We have to prepare for what it is that we are asking for, both within our hearts and out in front of us, for once God has our prayer in His hands, and He sees the we have proven to Him and trusted Him enough to get ready for it, then He is going to bless us in an even better way than you could ever even imagine.
