Praying Is A Two-Way Street

"God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer." Mother Teresa

When we pray about something, we often only have one-sided conversations. We talk and talk to God about what we would like Him to change or what we need Him to show us, but when we are done, we tend to walk away without listening for a reply. Praying is a two-way street. We have to present our requests to God, but we also have to listen to what the answer will be. But how do we know? How do we know what the answer is and where do we find it? God will show you, I am not saying that He will tell you what to do with a big booming voice, but maybe it will be a voice deep within yourself. Maybe it won't even be a voice at all, but rather a feeling that you get. Now, where do we find these answers? We find them in the silence. We find these answers when we just trust in God and we are still. That is when He will begin to open your eyes to what He is trying to show you. Now, it is not as though you can pray about something at night and wake up in the morning with an idea that you know 100% what you are supposed to do. No, praying takes time. Along with listening, you have to have patience. Just wait and see what God has to tell you, it is not a rushed process and it may take some time, but let me assure you that once you see what God has in store for you, it will be worth the wait.
