"A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal." Steve Maraboli
The holiday season is full of joy and happiness and the music and decorations everywhere are constant reminders of this great time of the year. But, some people may not feel this way. For some people, Christmas brings up a lot of past hurts and pains or some sort of memory that they are trying to forget. Maybe you know someone like this, if you don't, I can almost guarantee you that you have seen someone, rather it be in the grocery store or walking past you on the sidewalk. But how do we help these people? How do we heal these wounds that they have if we don't even know what they are? Well, it is really quite simple actually, we just have to take time and show them compassion. Reach that box of cereal from the top shelf for the lady in the grocery store, help someone pick up something they dropped, hold the door for somebody who's hands are full, or even just wishing someone a merry Christmas can make all the difference. Once you show these people that bit of compassion, notice how they change. Notice how a frown turned into a smile, notice how a somber attitude turned into a joyful one. Blessing someone with compassion can make a huge difference in somebody's life, even though you will probably never know the difference that you actually made, you can know that you were a blessing to somebody and you made not only their Christmas a bit better, but you made their life better as well.
