Are You Listening?

"We must trust and obey." Joshua 21:43-45

We all pray, we all ask God for things, and we all trust in Him and trust in His ability to give us what we need. We believe and we ask that God's will be done in our lives, so why aren't we seeing anything happen? Well, If we believe, and if we trust, those things are just the start. The question that I want to ask to today is this; we pray and we believe, we tell God that we have put our trust in Him and we ask Him to let His will be done in our lives, notice all of these things I mentioned, they all involve talking to God, so where is the part when we actually listen?
No matter what you are asking for today, God does want to give you an answer, He really does, but if you are not listening for a reply to your prayer and you think that it will just fall from the sky, that is where you are running into trouble. When we ask God for things, it is important to put your trust in Him, believe in Him, and let His will be done, but the steps after those are the ones that you really need to pay attention to. When God answers your prayer, He is sometimes asking you to carry out His will to be able to find the answer. What you are praying for and what you have been asking God to bring you may be hidden in a task that isn't really that enjoyable for you. But maybe, just maybe, in those uncomfortable situations, there will be the answer to the prayer that you have been searching so desperately for. All you need to do is take a minute and listen, and not only trust in God, but obey Him when He calls you to do something that may not seem too comfortable, because it is in those things, that we find our true miracles.

  1. Trust and obey... for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. :) Lovely post.
