"Find new ways to spread the word of God to every corner of the world." Pope Francis
Think of a dollar bill and how it travels, it starts when it is first printed and sent out, then maybe a cashier at the grocery store gets it, that cashier then passes it on to a customer as change and that customer uses it at another store later on and gives it to another cashier and the cycle continues on and on. Think of how easy it is to spend a dollar bill, and once we do, look at how fast it travels! What if we were to spread God's word that same way, what if we are able to say a few words of encouragement and they continue to pass on to others, just like that dollar bill. Well, you know what? We are. We are completely able to share with our cashier at the grocery store a kind or inspiring word, because if we share that with them, who knows who it will reach. But, the thing is is that sometimes when people don't actually see the results, they begin to get discouraged. Well unfortunately, seeing the words that you instilled in one person pass around to others isn't really something that you will be able to see. But, whether you can see it or not, you really only need to know two things. Number one is that God sees what you do. You put a huge smile on His face when He sees you passing along His word and words that point others toward Him. Secondly, you don't have to see it to know that your words have had a positive impact on others. Since God sees what you do, He is going do make sure that He gets the message around. So wherever you plan on going today, spread some encouraging words because remember, inspiring one person may impact many more lives than you could even imagine.
Great concept. It's so effortless for us to pass on a dollar bill, I believe I did it last night in my sleep! I agree with what you said that we get discouraged when results tarry, when people don't fall on their faces & repent immediately. I thought of John 4:35-38 where Jesus confirms a saying,'one sows & another reaps'. Several things jump out here. First, we are simply a link in a chain and in order for that chain to be usefully we must be lend ourselves to it. Secondly, without the disciples being sent to witness prior to this passage, Jesus may not have been available to the woman drawing water, which would then mean her & her town may not have ever known that they could be redeemed! So we may never see when the fruit appears, we must only know that it will. Thank you for your encouragement.
ReplyDeleteWhat you wrote is so very true Rodney! Everything that we do has a chain reaction, so why not make it a positive one? You are so very welcome, I am glad that I am able to encourage you.
