"Love never gives up, never loses faith, always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."
1 Corinthians 13:7
We all know that God loves us. That is a constant reminder for pretty much everybody reading this, but, because we have heard this so much, do we really know what we are saying when we say, "God loves me?" Yes, we all know what love is, but did you ever stop to think that the love that God has for you is different in many ways from the typical love that you know about? God's love for us is something so great that we couldn't even imagine it. His love is a special kind of love that we can't find anywhere else.
First of all, God's love never gives up on us. We mess up, we make mistakes, and we have all done things that we regret, but doing any of these things is not going to make God love you any less.
Secondly, God's love never loses faith. Now, usually when we talk about having faith we are talking about us having faith in Him, but I think that sometimes we forget that God actually has faith in us. God's love will keep you going and lift you up when you fall down. God's love will encourage you and cheer you on. God believes in you.
Third, God's love is hopeful. His love is always keeping hope in us. When we mess up or make mistakes, God is not going to just give up on us and lose that hope. No. His love is going to keep it's hope in us and guide us through whatever it is that we are going through.
Lastly, God's love endures. Just because you are going through a hard situation doesn't mean that God is going to stand back and say, "You know, you go on by yourself. I am going to stay out here where it is safer." No. His love endures through any situation that you might come across.
So if you keep these things in mind, the next time you say that God loves you, you will know the deeper meaning behind those three words.
