A Caterpillar Into A Butterfly: What The Miracle Teaches Us

"God changes caterpillars into butterflies, sand into pearls, and coal into diamonds using time and pressure. He's working on you too." Rick Warren

I want to start off today with the thought that this quote above brings to us. The thought of a small, crawling caterpillar turning into a beautiful, flying creature. Sand that we step on, just seeming like part of the ground, shaping into a new and shiny pearl. And a piece of coal, a rough and dirty rock, turning into a magnificent, beautiful diamond! All of these are amazing miracles that God performs each and every day, but do you know what else is alike about all of these miracles? To become what they are today, all of these things needed to endure time and pressure. It is not like becoming a butterfly from being a caterpillar is a fast process that happens in a day. No, that caterpillar waits on God's timing, and when the time is right, it breaks out of its cocoon, a new and improved creature. But it had to wait, like we all find ourselves doing, and when we do, we can't get frustrated with God, we can't try to hurry and rush Him, but we have to wait. We have to stay in our cocoon until God tells us that it is time to come out, and when we do, well, you will be new, you will be better, stronger, and transformed by the miracle that God used on you!
Now, what about the sand into a pearl or coal into a diamond? Well, those take a lot of time as well, and during that time, they have to endure pressure to become the beautiful creation God is transforming them into. Sound familiar? During our periods of waiting for God to perform His miracles on us, we may endure pressure, whether that may be other's opinions, obstacles we face along the way, or just overall frustration, we have to know that pressure is a part of our miracle. It goes along with trusting in God's timing. We have to know that whatever it is that is happening, is just making our miracle that much greater.
So today, take this advice and apply it to your life. Wait patiently with God, trust in His timing, and endure the pressure that comes your way. Because when you do, your miracle will be so much greater than it ever could have been before.
