"The quieter you become, the more you hear." Ram Dass
Life is so busy. We are constantly rushing around, trying to get this in place while balancing that and in the mean time trying to figure out how to do this, you get the point. It's totally fine to be busy though! I am not saying that there is anything wrong with it, but there is a question that I want to ask you today. Are you listening?
We all say that we listen to what God is telling us, but what does that listening really consist of. Are we just saying. "God, tell me what to do," while your driving on your way between the grocery store and your next meeting? When we do that, yes, we are asking for God's help, and we know that He does provide, but when you are wanting to hear an answer, well, that is when you need to start slowing down.
Think about it this way. If we were speeding down the highway with your windows wide open, your radio blaring, and a fire truck going off beside you, chances are, you are not going to hear the person talking to you in from the back seat. But what if that person in the back seat is God? He is trying to tell us something but we have so much going on around us that we can't hear Him. Let me tell you what you need to do. You need to roll your windows up, turn off the radio, pull into a driveway, and stop the car, and in that silence, you will hear what God is telling you.
So today, a midst all of the business and craziness of your life, make some time to just sit, be still, and listen.
AMEN! Thank you for reminding me to listen more!
