"The name of the Lord is strong tower." Proverbs 18:10
At times in our life, we all feel scared, we all feel worried, and we all find ourselves in the midst of a storm or two. But, maybe today you are asking the question of, where do I go during this storm I am in? Where can I run to for safety when I have so much going on around me? Well, to answer your question, I want you to take a look at the verse above.
Now, when I see this verse, an image comes to my mind. As it says that "the name of the Lord is a strong tower," I begin to think of the storm shelter, the cellar, that secure building that you go to during a storm. What do we find in this shelter? We find protection, we find security, we find shelter from the storm around us. So think about it. Does this shelter that we go to during a storm sound like some other type of protection, some other type of security in our lives? The answer? Yes.
God is our storm shelter! When things get rough, when it starts raining and thundering and the sirens start blaring, declare His name. Say God, besides all that is going on right now, I know you are protection, you are my shield, you are my shelter. Run to God, for when you do, He will protect you from all that is going on. And, like that storm shelter, nothing can shake Him, there is no wind strong enough to even make Him budge, no storm can knock Him down, and isn't it great to know that the protection and shelter that we have is that strong?
So today, if you are in the midst of a storm, and maybe asking where you are supposed to go, remember Proverbs 18:10 and remember that His name is your storm shelter.
