"God loves me not because I am good, but because He is good." Romans 5:8
No one in this world is perfect. We may try to be and we may aim towards that goal, but it is just not a possibility. Yes, we should strive to be the best that we can be, but maybe today you are going around, stressing yourself out because you feel like you need to be perfect, perfect for others, perfect for you, and even perfect for God.
Well, if this is you, I have something that you need to hear today. God doesn't need you to be perfect. He doesn't even want you to be! You don't have to be all put together and fixed up to go to God. No! God accepts the broken, He accepts those that have made mistakes, He accepts those who have pain and regret, and you know what He does? He heals them. He fixes them. He guides them in the right direction. So today, no matter how bad you think you are, no matter how many mistakes you have in your past, or maybe you have some bad regrets, but you know what? As it says in the verse above, God does not love us because we are perfect and good, but He loves us because He is perfect and good. He knows that in our lives, we will mess up and we will do things that we do regret, but God does not hold that against you! Rather than disapproving you because of it, He opens His arms and welcomes you into them, wanting to heal you of your wounds, forgive you of your past mistakes, and show you that, even though we may not be perfect all the time, He loves us anyway, because His love for us is, indeed, perfect all the time.
