"The grass is greener where YOU water it." Neil Barringham
You've always heard the saying, "the grass is greener on the other side." Well did you ever actually think about what this quote is saying? It is basically saying that wherever we are, there is always going to be something better over there, and this is how I feel that today's society actually is. But you see, what we need to learn to do is take care of the grass that we are on right now.
Now this idea can be harder than you might think. Let's just say that we are living on our side of the grass, happy and content with our live, thankful for what we have, but then that neighbor pulls up with that new car or you look and see that house down the street that is so much bigger than yours. We are always going to be able to compare what we have to what other people have, and it is always going to seem like we have less, but if we would just stop with the comparing, and just be happy with what you have because God has given you everything that you need, and think of how He feels when He has put all of these beautiful gifts in front of you, but instead of enjoying them, you are looking over at the other people's grass.
So here is what we need to do, we need to rid ourselves of that saying, "the grass is greener on the other side," and start watering our own grass. Stop looking at how green their grass is, because that's not ours. That is not the "grass" that God has blessed us with, but instead, look down under your own feet, see, now that is the part that God has blessed you with, and He wants you to be happy with it and take care of it, because "the grass is greener where YOU water it."
