"Be joyful today." Psalm 118:24
Throughout any given day, we are required to make many different choices, whether that be what we are going to wear, what type of cereal to buy at the grocery store, or even what you are going to have for lunch. But the question that I want to ask you is this; In the midst of all of those choices you are making, are you making the choice to be joyful?
You see, so many people think that being happy and being joyful stems from the situations that we encounter. If something good happens, we're happy. If something bad happens, we're sad. But there is so much more to it than that! See, God granted us with the choice that we get to make, in the presence of any situation, whether we are going to be sad and angry, or happy and joyful.
If you are walking through life, feeling sorry for yourself, looking at all your problems, and focusing on all of the discouraging aspects of that day, than you are choosing to be sad, you are choosing to be bitter, and no situation, person, or anything else that is not you can make you that way.
But listen, here, today, when you make the choice, choose to be joyful. Choose to look at all of the many blessings that God has put in your life. Focus on all of the things that are right with the world. Focus on the good qualities of others. And focus on how great our God is, and when you make this choice, the day ahead of you is going to go in a whole new direction. A direction full of favor, miracles, and blessings!
Go out today, and make the choice to be joyful.
