"There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind." C.S. Lewis
Maybe today you are finding yourself stuck in a place where, you don't necessarily want to leave what you have behind you, but you also want to walk into your future. This is a difficult choice that, every once in a while, God causes us to make. But listen here, so many times we find ourselves looking back at what we have instead of looking forward into our future. Why does this change anything? Well, have you ever seen anyone walking a long ways while looking behind them the entire time? Most likely not, because that person wouldn't be able to see anything that's in front of them. They would trip over things on their path, and eventually they would just turn around and go back. Are you doing that today? Are you that person walking the journey but looking back?
So how can we fix this? What is that we have to do? Well my friend, I know it may be difficult, but you are going to have to let the past go. No matter how great it was or how perfect you thought it would be for you, guess what? God has something even better in store, and you have to trust and know that, if He is moving you forward, if He is telling you to leave all of that behind, He is doing it for a reason! He knows something that you don't and that is why He is shutting that door. One day, when you are up in Heaven, you will able to look back on your life and see what God was doing, and you will thank Him for closing that door when He did. But you have to let it go first, because if you stand there staring at it, you are going to miss out on the future ahead of you that is indescribably better than what is behind that door. But you have to do your part, let go of that closed door, and actually turn around and face the future, and start walking into it.
