A Challenge For You: Be An Encourager, Not A Critic

"Be an encourager. The world has plenty of critics already." Dave Willis

Today, I want to challenge you. I want you to go about your day, without criticizing your life in the process, and instead, I challenge you to enjoy it, and in place of every criticism that may want to come out, be an encourager. Compliment someone, offer a kind gesture, or even just rejoice in the blessings that God has given you.
You see, this world has so much negativity already, whether it be in the news, people's attitudes, or anything else that does not offer encouragement, we don't need to add to that, but what we do need to do, is we need to give our attitude a makeover. We need to take our complaints and our criticism and change them into compliments and cheerfulness. And I am not saying that you can't state important things that may be wrong, but just don't complain about them! When someone asks you how you are doing, don't go off in a rant about how you are doing alright, and that these things are wrong here and those things are wrong there, and when someone starts a conversation, don't start going into all of the negative news and criticizing all that you think is wrong in the world, that the wind is too cold, that the person over there has their music too loud, that you the person in front of you in traffic is going to slow, or that you have been on hold for half an hour. Just think before you criticize and change it into an encouragement. Start talking about what's right in the world, all your many blessings, talk about how nice the weather is, that there is this one song that you really like, that there must be a reason God is holding you up in traffic, so thank Him for it, and that the person on the other end, the one putting you on hold, is trying as hard as they can.
So today, I encourage you to take up this challenge, and go the entire day without a complaint, and instad, go out and be an encourager. You will be surprised at the change that it can make.
