"In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you." Deepak Chopra
I find this quote to be so simply beautiful. It really tells us that, if we are in the presence of chaos today, if we feel like so many things are being thrown at us all at once, or we don't understand at all what is happening, that we do have some good news, and that is that, despite whatever it is that you have going on around you, there is a stillness that you can find within yourself.
Now you see, when we are "in the midst of movement and chaos," as Deepak Chopra says, it is hard to find the peace that is apparently inside of us. We have so much to deal with on the outside that we don't have time to dig around on the inside for that supposed peace. But you, my friend, have it all wrong. You see, even though everything going on around you might be in total chaos, even though it seems stressful, overwhelming, and you have no clue as to what is happening or why it is happening, you don't have to. You don't have to understand it all, you don't have to get a grip on all of the chaos around you, but rather, you just need to be still. (Psalm 46:10) You need to find and listen to the small voice that God has put within you; and no, that voice is not screaming out over the chaos around you, it is inside, whispering quietly, and it is telling you that even though you don't have a grip on this, it is okay, and even though you don't understand what is happening or why, that is okay too, because God's got it. Just trust Him, and let go of all the stress, burdens, stress, and anxieties. But to hear this voice, my friend, you have to just sit and be still.
So you see, today, no matter what you have going on around you, the only thing that you have to do is be still, breath, and listen to the small voice whispering inside of you.
