"When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be." Lao Tzu
We all have insecurities, and when we look at ourselves compared to the future that we have in front of us, they arise. They come out in full force, telling us that, as we are, we cannot fulfill this plan. We aren't strong enough, we aren't smart enough, and we just aren't capable. But let me tell you that, today, you need to let go of what you are so you can become what you might be.
Now, I want you to think about our ideas of what we are and the limits that we put on ourselves as chains, and whatever it is that we could be is out there on front of us. But see, the problem is that, even if we try to move ahead, we let those chains pull us right back to where we were. We let them hold us back and keep us bound up, wallowing in the fact that we aren't, and never will be able to become and walk into what it is in front of us.
So how is it that we rid ourselves of these chains? Well you see, to walk into what it is that we might become, we have to actually let go of what we are. We need to let go of the person that isn't strong enough, we need to let go of that weakness, that fear, that worry, that idea that we aren't smart enough, and the thought that we aren't capable. We need to rid ourselves of these thoughts because that is not who God has created you to be! You are made in His image, and He did not create you to live in chains! But rather, He created you to be strong, intelligent, entirely capable, and fearless; and you know what else? He also created what it is that you might be. He created that future in front of you, and He is waiting to see you shed those chains that are keeping you back and walk into it to fulfill the marvelous purpose that He has in store for you.
