Be The Best At Whatever You Are

"Whatever you are, be a good one." Abraham Lincoln

God has called us all to different things, and we each have a very special and unique purpose within us. But, as we wait for this purpose to be fulfilled, as we continue to go on in our lives searching for it, we need to do good at whatever it is that we are doing.
Now, why does it matter if we do good or not? And what does it even have to do with our real purpose that we are working towards? Well you see, my friend, these situations and these small tasks that you are given, they may seem insignificant in the story of your life, but God has put each and every one of them there for a very good reason.
But what is that reason? Well see, I want you to look at it like stepping stones. See, stepping stones lead you from one place, the beginning, all across many of the small ones that, eventually, will lead you to your ultimate destination. Now in our lives today, those small tasks and those jobs that seem so insignificant, those are our stepping stones. They are going to take us from the beginning to our ultimate destination, God's ultimate purpose for our lives, but we have to take these situations, and we have to try our best at them. We have to do good at whatever it is that God gives us.
Now I am not saying that you have to succeed every single time, but you just need to try. Give it your all, and, no matter what the job is in front of you, tackle it with the grace that God gives you, and when He looks down at us and sees us taking up these "stepping stone" jobs, when He sees us, rather than complaining about doing them or just ignoring them altogether, but instead, taking up and trying our best at it, He knows that He can trust us with something bigger, something that will, eventually, lead us to Him trusting us in giving us the purpose that He has created for our lives.
So today, show God that you are ready, and go be the best you can be at whatever it is that you do.

  1. I liked your message but I believe that God wants us to rest on him when we rest in God he works for us but when we say that 'I will by myself' then we have to struggle a lot which might be somehow making us away from God. So I believe as per a pastor's message that when one wants to do the will of God the very purpose for which we are here today we must completely rest in God. We must be always God dependent rather than tobe self dependent.
Pardon me if you feel this as any criticizing or something such by the way of your thinking you are right and by the way which I believe is also right.
