We Pray For Guidance, But Are Scared Of The Answers

"Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go." Joshua 1:16

In our lives, I feel as though we so often ask what it is that God wants to do in our lives. We pray for Him to guide us and direct us, and to lead us down the pathway that He has paved for us, but when God actually shows up and tells us something to do or tells us to go somewhere that maybe doesn't match up with what we had in mind, we back down. But let me tell you today, that if you are praying for guidance, you have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone.
You see, when we pray to God for direction and guidance and get the answer that we are looking for, sometime that answer can look a bit scary. That answer can mean that you, my friend, are being asked to do something that may not be completely comfortable for you. But you see, what the problem is here, is that when many people hear a reply to their prayer that makes them a bit uncomfortable or that means that they are going to have of step out of their comfort zone, they don't listen to it, they practically tell it no. But you see, what they don't know is that God had sent that answer down to guide them and to give them direction. He gave them that task, that inspiration, or that opportunity because He knew that it would bring them one step closer to living the life full of purpose and fulfillment that He has for them. But, by saying no, they are missing out on God's best for their lives.
So today I want to encourage you, I want to encourage you not to be afraid of what it is that God has for you, but instead, just know that, even though it may be a bit outside of your comfort zone, the old saying reigns true, "if God brings you to it, then He is going to bring you through it," and we have to trust Him, not only with our prayers, but with the answers that He gives us. We have to know that if He is the one that set this inspiration, opportunity, or task in front of us, then it must be something pretty spectacular. Now, I am not saying that there aren't going to be any challenges along the way, for I can tell you that there will be, but God will get you through them, and the blessing, wonder, miracles, and change that taking this opportunity will bring upon your life will far outweigh the troubles, and are far greater than you could ever even imagine.
So today, step out into what it is that God has waiting for you, not with an attitude of fear and intimidation, but with the attitude that we see in the verse above, saying "Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go." And when you do, you are going to be absolutely amazed as to how God is going to begin to reveal His plan for your life to you. His grand, glorious, marvelous plan.
