"To pray is to let go and let God take over." Philippians 4:6-7
I want to ask you a question today. A question that, maybe you have never thought to ask before. A question that, with the right approach to it, could truly change your life forever. So, what it is that I want to ask you today is; are you praying? Now, you might say yes, of course, but are you really and truly praying?
Now, what do I mean by this? What do I mean by really and truly praying? Well, you see, we most likely will all say that we pray, most likely more than once a day even, but when it comes down to it, are we praying in the way that the Bible tells us to? See the quote above, Philippians 4:6-7. It tells us that "to pray is to let go and let God take over." Are we doing that in our lives? When we pray, are we giving it all to God, handing it over to Him, and letting Him take it all up in His control? For many of us today, the answer is no. It is hard to give up control. We want to know how the situation turns out, how we are going to get from here to there, or where we are headed next. We want to know that this difficult situation that we are in will have a light at the end of the tunnel, so we take all of the weight upon our own shoulders to try to figure out a way to find it. Bit listen, if you are praying for these things, then there is no need for you to be trying to control them, for then God is unable to do what He does best. But when you pray, you have to make sure to really and truly pray; you have to make sure that you are giving it all to God, handing everything over to Him, and letting go. That is the only way that we are going to receive the answers that we are looking for. Now, don't get me wrong, we still have to do the work that God sends us out to do, but it is much clearer as to what it is that He is calling you to do and the work is much less straining when you do not the weight of all of that control on your shoulders.
So today, I want you strengthen your prayer life by praying in a way that you never have before! Let go, give it all to God, and just keep praying. For if you do, then you, my friend, are going to be amazed at what He will do in your life.
