You Can't Calm The Storm, But You Can Calm Yourself Within It.

"You can't calm the storm so stop trying. What you can do is calm yourself. The storm will pass." Timber Hawkeye

So many of us, when we get stuck in hard times or difficult situations, try to figure it out how to figure it all out. We try to calm the storm that is raging around us, but the truth is, is that we can't. We can't calm the storm. We can't make the chaos stop; but what we can do is calm ourselves within the storm.
See, I think during those times that we are caught in one of these situations, our automatic response is to try and fix it. We want to work everything out so that it will all calm down. But doing this only results in us putting an added stress on ourselves that isn't going to get us anywhere. We are going to be running around blindly in the chaos. So what is it that we are supposed to do while in the midst of this storm? Well you see, it is true that we cannot calm the storm, but there is someone that can, and that someone will, if we rest in the peace that He is offering us.
I think that, especially when we are in the midst of a raging storm of chaos and stressful situations, we tend to forget about the peace that God has waiting for us. He always has it, and it is a constant resource that He is freely offering to us, but we are too busy trying to figuring out how to calm the craziness going on around us, we are too busy trying to figure it all out, that we don't get a chance to rest in that peace. We don't get a chance to rejoice in the fact that God is going to take care of this situation. So see, this is where you, my friend, need to do your part. You need to stop trying to calm the storm, and instead, rest in the peace that God has for you. The peace that "transcends all understanding," as it says in Philippians 4:7, the peace that tells you that God is taking care of this, that He has this situation, and you, in the palm of His hand; so you don't need to worry, you don't need to figure it all out, and you don't need to take all of the weight upon your shoulders, but instead, look up towards the heavens, and just say, God, please take this, and grant me with the peace that I know you have for me. Once you pray this prayer, your storm may not calm right away, but within it, you will feel a peace within you, a peace that only your Heavenly Father can provide. So rest in that and just hold on, for the storm will pass.
