What Are You Praying For Today? And Are You Doing Your Part In Asking For It?

"You've got to plead with God so that He can do what only He can do. And then you've got to get out of the way and let Him do it!" Miss Clara (War Room)

What are you asking God for today? Is it healing? Stability in a financial situation? For broken relationships to be mended? Guidance and purpose in your life? Whatever it may be, I want to encourage you today that He will come through, that is, if you take a few steps first.
Now, we know that God hears our prayers, we talked about that yesterday, but what about actually asking our prayers? I think that sometimes, we feel like we are being greedy or like we are asking God for too much, so in prayer we come to Him saying something like, "Yes, God, now if you could maybe make this happen, you don't have to, but if you possibly could, that would be great." Have you ever felt like this in talking with God? I have a feeling that most of us have, but listen, there is truth to the quote above, for in the first half of it, is says that we have to "plead with God so that He can do what only He can do." Notice it doesn't say "hesitate to ask," or, "maybe ask," it doesn't even say the word "ask," but you know what it does say? It says the word "plead," and the definition of this word is to "make an emotional appeal," and that my friend, is how we need to approach prayer. See it says in this quote that this is the way in which God will start to do what only He can do, if we would start pleading to Him for what we are asking for, He will hear you and see that this is something that you are really truly wanting to come to pass in your life. He will see that you are meaning this prayer that you are sending up to Him, and if it is His will for you, after He sees these things, He will bless you with it.
Now, the second part of this quote states that we have to "get out of the way and let Him do it!" We have to let go of all control that we have imagined to have over this situation. We have to stop sticking our noses into it, and step back, letting God take the reigns. If we plead to Him this prayer and trust that if it is his will, He will bring it to pass, then we need to actually let Him to that, and that doesn't involve us having any control over the situation.
So today, start pleading to God for what it is that you are asking for in your life, make an emotional appeal to Him, and then step back, and let Him do the work that only He is capable of doing. And let me tell you, that when you do this, you are going to see God work in your life in ways you have never seen Him before.
