Start Lighting Some Candles In The Darkness

"Stop cursing the darkness and light some candles." Unknown

Today in your life, maybe you are going through a tough time. You seem to be stuck in the midst of a dark, and at times, hopeless situation, and you don't see any way out. But let me reassure you, that no matter how dark your situation may seem, you just need to start lighting some candles.
Now, what is it that I mean by saying, "light some candles?" Well you see, when we are in dark, difficult, and trying situations, we sometimes tend to develop a sour attitude. We become cranky, frustrated, and stressed, and we let that overtake our thoughts. But let me ask you this; if you were in a dark room, would bringing in more darkness make it brighter? "Well of course not!" You are probably saying. "What a simple question!" But what we don't realize is that this is exactly what we are doing! That room in our problem, our obstacle that we are facing, and that darkness, that is what we are bringing in. That darkness that ultimately made the room darker; that is our negativity, that is our sour attitude, and our doubt. It is built from the negative words we pour out on the situation. The, "I'm never going to get out of this," the, "why even keep trying?" The "I give up," and the "It's just not possible." All of these words that you are speaking over the situation are only making it worse for you, my friend. These words are making the room much darker.
But see, what we need to do, and start doing today, is lighting candles in that dark room! We need to start bringing positive thoughts and positive attitudes to the situation at hand. For, even though it may be difficult, it may be trying, and you may be frustrated, just keep in mind that light always floods out the darkness. It always overcomes it, and the more light you have, the more the darkness will diminish.
So today, go out and speak positive words over your difficult situation. Words that say, "I can do this through Christ who strengthens me," that say, "I have God at my side, and with Him, nothing is impossible." That say, "I am capable, this is possible, and I am going to overcome it!" When you speak these words, watch as the darkness begins to diminish in your life. You my friend, just need to start lighting some candles.
