Maybe today in your life, you feel as though, in trying to be like Jesus like He has instructed us to do, you aren't getting appreciated. You are being kind to people, you are giving, you are caring, and you are doing things for them, but more often than not, they don't appreciate you for it, sometimes doing so without even a thank you. But let me tell you something; let me tell you that not everyone appreciated Jesus for what He did, people did not tell Him thank you, didn't give Him the time of day, and some even wanted to persecute Him for it, but did He ever stop being kind and showing that love to others?
Now, if we are going to do our best to be like Jesus, I think that we are going to have to experience some of what He did. Grated it probably won't be as extreme, but we are going to have people who don't appreciate us. We are going to have people of who we think we give such a nice gesture to that don't even acknowledge that we are there. But this is what Jesus had to experience in constantly showing kindness and love! And did He ever stop doing it? No! Of course not. Jesus showed others the unconditional love that says, even if they don't say thank you, even if they don't appreciate it, and even if they don't notice what I did at all, that I did it out of love, and out of the love that Jesus has shown me, and that is all that matters.
Not only this, but when you do kind things, and when you keep doing them, even though no one may notice it, even though you may not receive a thank you, God sees what you did, and He is going to bless you for it. He is going to make sure that no act of kindness that you ever do is going to be wasted. He sees what you do, and let me tell you my friend, that He appreciates you. When He sees you doing a kind gesture in His name, that fills Him with such joy that He can't help but bless you because of it. So, even though the people that we are being kind to don't always appreciate what we are doing, God does, and that is the only opinion that ever matters.
So just go out today and be kind to others, showing them the unconditional love that Jesus has shown us, for when He sees you doing so, He not only appreciates what it is that you are doing, but He is going to bless you for it.
