If It's Not His Will It Won't Be Done

"Lord if it's not your will, let it slip through my grasp and give me the peace not to worry about it." Tony A. Gaskins Jr.

When things don't happen in our lives; when we work towards a goal and it just doesn't work out, or an opportunity falls through that we were truly hoping would happen, that can be hard. And maybe this, my friend, is where you are today. At one of these points where are questioning God and why He wouldn't allow this to happen. But listen, if you would change your perspective and stop focusing on what God isn't doing and realize what it is the He is actually doing, it can give you a lot more comfort and understanding.
Now, at one point in my life I heard a few incredibly simple words that really changed my perspective in this entire issue. Those words went something along the lines of, "If it's not His will, then He won't let it happen." Now, I know this may seem like a statement that has been widely overused, but if you really pay attention to what it is saying, that is where the life-changing begins.
See, God wants us to have experiences in life, He wants us to make mistakes, and He wants us to try new things, just like a parent would for a child. But see, He may lead us to these things and He may lead us to experiences so that we are able to learn something that He needs us to learn for the journey ahead of us, but if it isn't His will and He doesn't want us to go further into it, then it isn't going to be done. Doesn't that take a lot of the pressure off of your shoulders? If you do the best you can and just try your hardest, God will show you if you are meant to be there or not. This was such a relief for me to realize and I hope that is is for you too. You don't have to worry about making something happen or worrying over whether this is what God wants for you, because if you just try your best and continue to follow Him, He is going to lead you to where it is that He has you to go, letting His will be done along the way.
So today, stop living with disappointment, and proclaim this statement to God instead; "Lord if it's not your will, let it slip through my grasp and give me the peace not to worry about it." Just go out and trust that God knows where He is taking you.
