"The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything." Unknown
We get so caught up in society's standard of what is the best. We want to have the best car, the best job, the best salary, the best clothes, and so many other aspects. But, my friend, don't you realize that you don't need all of those things to be happy? Don't you see that happiness comes from somewhere completely different?
Now you see, there are so many instances, when it comes to our happiness, where we say, "Oh, well I'm happy now but I will be truly happy when I have ____," fill in the blank. We think that we need these things to be happy. We think that we need more money, we think that we need our dream house, we think that we need the newest and best technology, but my friend, that is not even close to what happiness is. Happiness is not found in things, but rather, it is found when you make the best out of everything.
See, we may not have the best. We may not have the big fancy job or that sleek and fast car, but we are given the opportunity to make the best out of what we do have! We are being told that, if we would live this life now, and if we would enjoy the moment that we are in, that is when we are going to find happiness.
See, too often we are chasing these things, thinking that once we get them they are going to make us happy, but in doing so, we are missing out on the chance for true and pure happiness that is right under our feet. God grants with so many blessings in each and every moment, so if you would take the time to realize that, and rejoice in all of the things that you have right now that God has given you, that right there is happiness. That is the thing that you can find in these worldly possessions that you were chasing, but can be found in the blessing of your life and in the blessing of this very moment right here and now that God has given you.
So stop chasing happiness. You are never going to find it that way, and begin to realize that it is right beneath your feet.
