Love Instead Of Judgement

"Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy." Thomas Merton

In our lives, no matter where you are, judgement always seems to be a constant factor, but the thing is, is that it always seems to be us, God's children, who are doing the judging. But why is this? Well, you see, my thought is that God has given us such a great commandment, one that He said exceeds all the rest, and that is to show love and to unconditionally love the ones around us. But here's the thing, when we meet someone of whom we so strongly disagree with or don't get along with, the last thing that we think about doing is loving them, so instead, we find something to judge them over. We look at their political beliefs, we look at their faith, and we look their lifestyle; these are the things that we do instead of loving them, and we do this because it is too difficult for us to love that person. But my friend, God never said it would be easy to show this love, He said it was the most important of the commandments He gave us, but He didn't say it would be the easiest. No. But we need to be willing to be up for the challenge that it brings. It may be difficult, but we, as God's children, need to model love to this world and not judgement. We need to show this world that God loves them, and we start by loving them ourselves.
See, if we look at whether they are worthy or not of us loving them, we are forgetting that God loves us so completely, and that we are completely unworthy of that, but He deems us as worthy and loves us anyways. So show that to the world today, go out, and love others.
