Carpe Diem

"Carpe Diem."

I think that I can safely assume that mostly all of us have heard the saying "Carpe Diem," translated to "seize the day." But have we ever realized that these words can be applied to our faith lives? Have we ever realized that this quote, one that many would say is overused and cheesy, could be the true basis of what it is God is wanting for us in our lives?
Now, how might this be? Well you see, as humans, we tend to want all of the answers and know God's big plan for our lives in the future right now; so in doing so we search, and we search, and we search, and when we don't find what we are looking for, we begin to worry and stress out, and with that chaotic mentality that is causing so much noise in our own minds, we are unable to hear what God is saying and where He is telling us to go; and this is where "Carpe Diem" comes back into play. You see, God wants us to be excited about what He has in store for us, but He also wants us to just live in the moment that we are in and make the most of it. Take the opportunities and enjoy the blessings that He offers you today without worrying about where you might end up tomorrow. That is the life that God has destined you to live! And when we do start living that way, there is going to be a new peace and a new direction that comes from it that God has been waiting for you to experience.
So let tomorrow stay in tomorrow, and enjoy all the opportunity and blessing that God has given you today, for He has you exactly where He wants you and He is going to lead you into something that is so amazing that we can't even begin to imagine it, if we will only remember to seize the day.
