How Do I Know What My Purpose Is In Life? The Answer: You Don't

What is our purpose? What were we created for? And where does God have us to be in our lives? If you're like me, then these questions penetrate your thoughts quite often. Now, we have heard and we understand that God's will for us is to love Him and then love others, being a light to the world, and that is truly exiting. But what about all of the stuff in between? What about the talents, the gifts, the jobs, the opportunities, and the journeys that God has for us? How do we know where He wants us to go when it comes to these things?
Well see, I don't have a for sure answer for you. If I did, I wouldn't continue to struggle with this topic myself. But what I believe we must do is to take it one day at a time. God's not going to give us the full picture of where He has us to be, but instead, He is going to give is what we need for each day. It is like a big puzzle. We don't know what the end result is going to look like, but each day we are given one piece, contributing to the overall end product.
This is what God is doing in us! He knows what the finished product is, and that's all that matters, for what He has in store for us is so amazing, that we can't even process it all! It is too great for us to even fathom! So God gives us one step at a time each and every day, and you have to know that, even when it seems like you aren't taking any step at all, or even when you feel like you are taking a step back, God is still working and He is still leading you to the place that He has you to be.
So take heart in the fact that we don't have to figure it all out. We don't have to know all of the answers to the questions asked at the beginning of this post. God's got you and your life in the palm of His hand, and He is going to lead you into the unfathomable future that He has for you, one step at a time. You, and me, just have to trust the process.
