God Loves Your Imperfections.

"We please Him most, not by frantically trying to make ourselves good, but by throwing ourselves into His arms with all our imperfections and believing that He understands everything--and still loves us." A.W. Tozer

Maybe today, you have the impression that you have to be perfect, you have to be good, you have to be just right to please God. When we have this impression, there is an exhausting cycle the we become a part of. We start off by thinking that we have to be perfect to please God, so then we go to try to fix that. In the midst of "fixing" our imperfections, we begin to find more and more and start to think that we are not good enough for God. This is a vicious cycle that, when caught in it, can be extremely exhausting. But know this, if you do happen to be caught in that cycle today, there is a way to break it.
Today, while you are trying to make yourself perfect to please God, I want you to stop a minute, it even says in the quote above that you are "frantically trying." So just stop, pause, and breath. Stop the spinning of that vicious cycle and think about this: We do not have to be perfect for God! We don't have to fix all of our flaws and imperfections, but rather, instead of running around trying to fix them, run straight into God's arms with all of your imperfections, with all of your flaws, with everything.  He knows. He knows that you have things that maybe you would like to change about yourself, He knows you have those flaws and imperfections, but you know what? He loves you anyway. He honestly doesn't care about any of those things, so why should we?
So today, know that it is not pleasing to God is you are frantically running around trying to change yourself. But it is pleasing to Him when you take up all of those imperfections and all those flaws and just run into His arms with them, knowing that He loves you as you are. That, my friend, is what is pleasing to God.
