"Happiness is a journey.. Not a destination." Ben Sweetland
So many people in life set goals for themselves, goals for things they want to do and places they want to reach, and yes! Goals are a great thing to have! But, at the same time, many people say that once they reach their goal, once they get that job, once they buy that house, or make it here or there, that is when they will be happy. But, the question that I want to ask you today is this, if we are trying to get to a point where we will be happy if we are here or there or have this or that, if we are saying that is when we will be happy, are we really enjoying the life God has given to us along the way?
Is this you today? Are you so busy trying to work towards your destination of what you call, "happiness," that you are missing all of the happiness that God is actually trying to show you? Ben Sweetland put it perfectly, he said "Happiness is a journey.. Not a destination." What he means by that is that happiness is not that big fancy job, happiness is not that car or that house, it is not any of those things, but rather, happiness is the thing that we find along the way. Happiness is the thing that we are not searching for, that we are not even striving towards, but as long as we take time to enjoy this journey that God has put us on, as long as we walk the path, take time to smell the flowers and witness all of the miracles and blessings that God has going on around us, that, my friend, is where we are going to find true happiness.
