"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop." Confucius
I think one of the things that we get frustrated in with our walk with God is the timing. We can see the goal at the end of our path, we can taste it, and we know what it is and that it's there, but, it seems as though walking along our path, we are going in slow motion. Well, let me tell you today, that there is a reason you are not at that point yet. There is a reason that God is having you walking this path slower than you might like. But you have to know that, no matter how slow or fast you might be going today, that it is all in His timing.
So why is God wanting us to go slow, why can't we walk faster? I mean, I see the goal up there, can't I just start running and get it? Well my friend, you see, God isn't thinking about the goal at the end of the road for the same reason He isn't still thinking about the path behind you. He is focusing on you, right now where you are, taking the steps that you are taking today. Did you ever think that maybe God is having you walk slow steps to get you to look at yourself before looking at the goal? Maybe He has slowed you down because you are not ready, spiritually emotionally, or physically for whatever it is that lies ahead on your journey.
So, what are we to do? Well what I want to encourage you with today, is to keep going. No matter how slow the journey may be, just don't stop and give up because it is not going how you want it to, but instead, think of why God is doing this. Chances are, that today, you are so focused on the goal that is off in the distance, that you are not focusing on the ground that you are walking on. Do what God is doing and see yourself in today, don't look back at the way you have come, and don't look at it as how far you have to go, but focus on the steps you are taking, and when you do this, you will find ways to better yourself, you will find ways to enjoy the journey you are on and see all of the blessings that God has put at your feet, not to mention you will find yourself becoming more and more equipped for whatever it is that God has in store for you.
So today, just don't quit, keep going, and focus on the steps that you are taking.
