"Paul wrote, 'I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content...'" Philippians 4:11
I love this idea that Paul has written out for us. He is telling us that, no matter how bad the times might get, that it is possible that we are able to remain calm. I know what you are probably thinking right now too, "How on earth am I supposed to stay calm in a difficult situation? Isn't it a natural human instinct to be stressed and worried?' Your answer to the question is, well yes actually. But even though that is a natural human reaction, we can still decide not to be that way...
So how do we stay calm in a stressful and difficult situation? Well, I heard someone say once that, you can live a calm life, you be content in any situation that may come at you, if you tell yourself that your life is in God's hands. This situation is going to turn out like God wants it to, and you know what? God wants the best for you, and He is going to work to get it, only if you would let Him. You see, so much of the stress and worry we have is from trying to control a situation. We try to get the result that we want, we try to make it work for us, but in reality, what we really need to be doing here is handing it over to someone much much bigger than us. Someone who actually has control over this situation, and once we do hand it over, some people think that this is the final step, but really it isn't, we need to tell ourselves that whatever happens is the will of God. We need to know that, every single thing in our life that has happened or will happen, God has planned it out, and He is going to use the situation, even if it seems like a really bad one, to our advantage.
So today, I want you to start living a content life. A life of knowing that, whatever happens, it is God's will. Hand over the control and look at life through a new perspective, a perspective of knowing that this is part of God's plan for your life.
