"Don't judge the day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant."
Robert Louis Stevenson
At the end of the day, when you are finally sitting down and able to relax, you have time to look back on the day. But the question that I have for you today is this; What are you seeing? What are you are seeing when you looking back on the day that you just experienced, or better yet, what are you looking for?
Now, what exactly do I mean by that? Well, what I am asking you is; are you are looking back on the day you just had, trying to figure out what you gained? Or are you trying to figure out what you gave? You see, it is natural human instinct and really how today's environment is, whereas we put something in and we get something out. But when we are living for God, when we are doing His work here on earth, that is not always going to be the case. For example, when a farmer goes out into his field for the first time in the planting season, there is nothing in the ground yet. So the farmer takes his seeds and he plants them, hoping that they will grow and be successful. Now at the end of his day, does the farmer look at what he has reaped, what he gained, from his crops? No! And if he did, he would get discouraged because he has not reaped anything yet, but if he looks at the seeds that he planted, if he looks at the difference he made in that ground that had nothing in it before. Than his effort will seem so entirely worth it. You see, we are that farmer, and rather than focusing on what we reap and getting discouraged when there is not a lot there, we need to focus on what we sow, the difference that we made, the seeds that we planted in that ground that had nothing in it before. When you do this, not only will you feel happy and content with your efforts, but the people and the world that you impacted will feel the difference that you made. They will grow to be strong and successful, just like those seeds.
