"God must become greater; I must become less." John 3:30
Sometimes I think that we get so incredibly stressed out because we are trying to hold on to the situation that we are facing, not because we want to stay in it, but because we want to control it. We are honestly afraid of what will happen if we just let go, but John 3:30 tells us something that we need to do in this situation; we need to become less.
You see, as harsh as may sound, when we are trying to control the situation, we are thinking way too highly of ourselves. We don't have the power, the strength, or the capability to control any situation we are in, and if we try to, well, trying to have control without having any of the things you need to do so will really stress you out. But, I have some good news here. Listen, we don't have to control the situation. We don't have to take the reigns and steer the situation in the way that it is supposed to go. We don't have to do any of that! Why? Well, because it is already taken care of. Taken care of by someone who does have the strength, someone who does have the power, and someone who does have the capability, and so much more. God has it, and He is asking you to just hand over the control. I know, it can be scary, not knowing what lies ahead once you do hand the reigns over, but when it is in God's hand, you can know that it is going to be miraculous.
With that said, we need to remember to do the two things; we need to make God greater. Let Him have control and trust that He is going to lead you to where you are supposed to be, and we need to become less. We need to stop thinking that we can control this situation, because in reality, we can't. We need to start laying our problems at the feet of God, and letting Him take the control away from us.
