"When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say... 'I used everything you gave me.'" Erma Bombeck
Today I want to start off with a question that I want to ask you; Are you using all the gifts that God has given you? Now, before you start saying, "well of course I am! What else would I do with them?" I want you to think really hard. Are there some talents God has blessed you with that you are missing because you are chasing after a different one so that you can be like that other person? Are you not going after them because you are afraid you won't be good at it? Now, let me ask you again, are you using all the gifts that God has given you?
See, there are so many times when we push aside a talent, or even a few, because of one reason or another. But listen, God gave you each and every one of those talents that you posses, and He wants to see you use every single one of them. Notice that He may have not given you that one talent that she has over there or that he has, but you can't go around trying to chase something that you are never going to reach. God gave them their set of talents and He gave you yours, But you are never going to be able to enjoy your own if you are off chasing those of another. Embrace the talents that you have, and take pride in them too!
Now, sometimes we push some of those talents back down because we are afraid of what they will bring, we are afraid that we aren't going to be good at them, and we are even scared that we are going to disappoint God. But let me tell you this, taking that talent and embracing it, whether you believe that you are good at it or not, will make God so happy, and He will make sure that, if He blessed you with it, He is going to make you exceed your own expectations. Don't worry about failing, because yes, you are going to mess up here and there, but in the end, you are going to be surprised at how you were able to use your talents, how you were able to share them with the world around you, make an impact, and embrace them. And then, one day, as Erma Bombeck said, we will be in the presence of God and say, "look, I used everything you gave me."
THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT AND INSPIRATION. A HUGE AMEN!!!!!!
