"A bad attitude is like a flat tire, you can't go anywhere without changing it." Anonymous
I want to start off with an illustration for you today. Ok, so you walk out of your house and get into your car, ready to go to wherever you are needing to be that day. You start the car and are about to pull out, but your car isn't moving. You try again, and still nothing, so you get out of the car and go and see what's wrong, then you see it. You have a flat tire.
So, if you have a flat tire, you're not able to go anywhere, and you're just kind of stuck. I think that is how some of us are today. We are stuck with a "flat tire" mentality. It is where we are ready to go, and we are expecting to move forward, but when we try, we don't go anywhere. Well, my friend, that is because of your flat tire. You see, in this example the tire is the equivelent to your attitude. If you are all ready to start moving forward, in fact, you are expecting to do so, but you get out and you start to complain, "I got up way too early, I'm exhausted, I wish I didn't have to go anywhere today, oh and how wonderful? It's raining. That's just what I needed." If you are going out like this, you are basically taking a flat tire and putting it on your car. You may be ready, you may be wanting to move forward, and expecting to, but with your "flat tire" mentality, you're not going anywhere.
But let me ask you this, how is it that we fix a flat tire? We replace it. And that is exactly what you are needing to do today! You need to take your "flat tire" mentality and replace it with a new "full tire" mentality. To do this, rather than finding all of the wrongs in your day, try to find all the rights. Go out and say, "What a great morning. I am so blessed to be able to start my day and go wherever it is that you are going. And look at the beautiful rain. It feels so good and will water everything! Thank you God!" You will see then, if you think like that, that your "car" is going to start moving, and you, my friend, are going to start moving forward towards the amazing future that God has for you.
So today, stop thinking with a "flat tire" mentality and start thinking with a "full tire" mentality.
